We spent the weekend with friends in Hòa Bình, a rural province near Hanoi. Good times were had by all. Some impressions...

The historic center of Vientiane is teeming with Wats, Buddhist monasteries where monks practice their faith and novices study the teachings of the Buddha. These places are quiet and welcoming oases in an otherwise already quiet and welcoming town, nestled cosily on the muddy banks of the mighty Mekong river. During my most recent trip to Vientiane I was lucky enough to find my hotel being located amidst a few Wats so taking a quick peek inside was easy as 1, 2, 3.
Taking the boys out on an urban adventure on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The Lotte tower's Sky Walk at the 65th floor is not for the faint of heart, but for Mats and Ole it's just a walk in the park.
Here's a few from the recent Têt celebrations at the Tay Ho Pagoda near our house. Throngs of people go there regularly to pray for good fortune.
January marked our return to Vietnam after the Chrismas Holiday which we spent in Belgium. In this post you can find a few attempts at street photography which I undertook during an hour of spare time in Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Penh, along with some family snapshots.
As the title says, this is a random selection of photos taken throughout 2015. Fun, family, life in Ha Noi, landscapes, anything and everything basically. My love. The flip-flop shop, somewhere in Ha Noi. One of the many local bun cha places that grace the nation's capital. The night sky over Tay Ho district is lit by a lightning strike. The entrance to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Ba Dinh district. A traditional dragon dance during the Moon Festival in Xom Chua, our neighbourhood in Ha Noi. This is Mats, trick-or-treating on Halloween and not being sure if all those ghosts, ghouls and goblins are real or not. To serve and protect... This is Ole, cruising the streets of Hanoi in the back of a xe lam. Armin Van Buuren putting on a show. Ole and his mom. No words. Fire in the sky.
