THE ALLEY
This series of photographs offers the viewer a glimpse inside an anonymous alley and the lives of its inhabitants. Dig a little deeper, or better yet, look up, and one notices there's a struggle going on. Two enormous real estate projects loom over the alley, ready to swallow it. How long will the dead-end alley survive, sandwiched between the building frenzy that surrounds it?
These images tell the stories of the people on street level while the growing city encompasses their lives. They depict everyday scenes against sometimes haunting backdrops, taken at night and bathing in fluorescent lighting. The result is a series of dark, yet colorful images. Like the alley itself.
